Travelgum

by Shoggoth (Daniele Pezzi, Paolo Pennuti)

A car circumscribes the industrial area of Ravenna (Italy) in a frenzied and obsessive manner. An ill worker tells about his job experience at Eni’s chemical plants from 1962 to 1991: protracted exposure to chemical agents has progressively damaged his health and he continued working with symptoms of a cronic disease. The narration is continuously interrupted by voices of other people involved in the area for different reasons. The auto radio intercepts the voices. With a documentary approach, Travelgum brings into questions different perspectives related to a circular space explored in different times of the day.

Audio sources: Il caso Mattei (F.Rosi) – movie / Il deserto rosso (M.Antonioni) – movie / Il gigante di Ravenna – documentary an actor / an environmentalist / two fishermen / a journalist / a manager / a priest / a researcher / a worker.
